Last week, it was a pleasure to attend in a personal capacity a truly inspiring evening with UN Women at Meta headquarters in London. The event brought together delegates from across the country to come together and celebrate and recognise UN Women’s good work, both in the UK and the world over. UN Women takes action at every level of society, from governments to companies and communities.
Christina Macfarlane, Anchor and Correspondent for CNN International, was the host for the evening. Highlights from the UN Women Awards 2024 included a special address by both UN Women Executive Director, Tabitha Morton and Chair of Board, Michele Oliver.
It was wonderful to speak with delegates and learn more about current initiatives which aim to provide women across the world with safety, a choice and a voice – in addition to how these fit in with the UN’s overarching sustainable development goals.
It was an unforgettable evening and it was a privilege to be part of such a wonderful community. What’s more, proceeds from the evening are to go to the Women’s Emergency Fund, which supports women facing urgent crises.
